ok first off we NEED to talk about that ending: "But nowhere in the shadows of Emily’s mind was there a whisper of the man with laughing eyes" so ominous and perfect!!! pretty sure no one could stop reading after that line even if they wanted to 😭 emily's chapters are probably my favorite (tied with Ooschu obviously) because of all the secrets! i can't wait to know more about her past, especially with THIS revelation! i'm also a huge huge fan of the worldbuilding and all the fantasy creatures you've incorporated without it being overwhelming (like seriously how?? i could never)! plus the way they have such unique personalities too? despite us only being in their head for one chapter? i don't think i can ever mention enough times how much i love this!!!
Chills, chills, and more chills! Your words make me believe in happy endings and possibilities, thank you, Anoushka! I swear, I didn't do it, though I do serve as the receiving vessel, then put words to what she/they (my muse) tell/s me. I confess that it took seven years from the initial idea before I published this first book. Then another year (because #2 was well over 1/2 written when I pubbed #1), to get the second one out, and another four years to finish the trilogy. So, altogether? I spent twelve years on the trilogy. WHY? For the reasons you mentioned. The story and world were so huge, it took forever to capture it and do it justice. But I do seem to have a knack for slipping into different characters' skins and letting them speak, so I'm grateful for that.
And I'm sooo grateful for you and your feedback. You keep me going when times get tough (like the last two weeks!).
i'm somehow even more in awe of you now because you stuck with this for SEVEN whole years? that's seriously insane and so, so admirable! (coming from someone who can't even be bothered with sticking to one project for a couple months, i honestly admire you SO MUCH right now!) the amount of effort definitely shows in all the attention to detail and the way i'm SO HOOKED! you've woven in the mystery aspect of it so perfectly, it's always keeping me wanting more more more more.
i'm so sorry to hear the last two weeks have been hard though 🥺 i hope you're doing much better now ❤️ sending you lots of hugs!
Talk about hooked! I am now hooked on serial release. It’s fabulous to have feedback along the way instead of having to wait until the very end. Thank you for this, Anoushka. As always, you have brightened my day. And as for being persistent? You may not know this, but I’m a bit of a bulldog. It can also present as stubbornness. 😂 but you’re right, it holds me in good stead when writing. ✍🏻 I guess it’s a matter of buckling down and just doing it. I know you can too!🙏🩷
